How? I will tell you how to really build your self-confidence and be more confident. All you just have to do is to act on the tips. In the words of Dale Carnegie, “Action breeds confidence and courage.” This is why you have to make a move and work on the tips provided below;

Face and fight your fear

What exactly are you afraid of? Facing and fighting your fear is a great way to be more confident. This tip has been confirmed and proven by a lot of people, especially counselors, motivational speakers, therapists and world leaders. William Jennings Bryan advised that “The way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear.” By facing your fear, you gain confidence.

Always be Prepared

You need to prepare yourself for anything you want to do. You may develop fear or anxiety over when faced with something you are not prepared for. This fear and anxiety can destroy your self-confidence. Educate yourself. Read wide. In the words of Arthur Ashe, “One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self- confidence is preparation.”

Therefore, if, for instance, you have a speech to present, research on what you have to say, write out your speech and practice on how to present it until you know the content of the speech by heart. This way you are prepared and you will be able to exude more confidence in yourself to present a great speech. Preparing for something helps you to feel more comfortable and confident when doing that thing. Anyway, ensure you prepare with the belief that you can actually do what you are preparing for, if not you will be stuck at the preparation phase.

Understand that it is not the end of the world when you fail or do something wrong

You are human. This means failure or being wrong is inevitable. Failure doesn’t mean death or the end of the world. You can always right the wrong. See failure as a form of education to prepare you for something better. Also don’t worry about being wrong. According to Peter T. Mcintyre, “Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.” Learn from being wrong and from failure. Be strong and try again.

Know who you are and what you want out of life

How do you see yourself? What exactly do you want out of life? It is important to ask yourself these questions. Knowing your true self and your wants is a good way to build your self-confidence. Douglas Bader has given one of the greatest advice you need to listen to: “Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you can’t do this or that. That’s nonsense. Make up your mind, you’ll never use crutches or a stick, then have a go at everything. Go to school, join in all the games you can. Go anywhere you want to. But never, never let them persuade you that things are too difficult or impossible.”

In all, face and fight your fear. Learn from your failure. Then figure out and know more about yourself and what you want out of life, not what other people say you want. This way, you will have more confidence in yourself and your ability.
